"and it smells of sulfur still today"

September 21, 2006 jbh Leave a comment

an article that i found at both npr and also online at michael moore’s today commented on a speech by the president of venezuela in which he referred to our sacred king as the devil– can you imagine someone actually thinking that bush is the devil??? then again maybe that was his tail that we saw in the back of his suit jacket during the debates with senator kerry– i haven’t paid much attention to the president of venezuela so far, but hey if the guy reads noam chomsky he can’t be all bad–

probably just one more trip to the ocean to see the scenery

probably just one more trip to the ocean– or then again perhaps atta was meeting someone–
a report on “hardball” tonight mentioned that the 9/11 terrorist leader spent 9/10 in portland maine– a quick look at the map shows that kennebunkport is only about 40 minutes away– hmmm . . . i wonder if anyone is thinking what i am thinking . . . doubtful, however, the report stated in it’s closing remarks–

“So, did Mohammed Atta go to Portland because of security issues? Did he meet with somebody in Portland who helped him with the attack? That raises a larger issue, and that is: At any point did anybody in the U.S. knowingly help any of the 19 terrorists prepare for the attack?”

wow!!! did anybody in the u.s. knowingly help any of the 19 terrorists– you have to admit some folks are slow, but i do think they just might figure this one out–

revolution

yes indeed, it is time for a revolution–

i read an article the other day which brought in full force to my mind again how desperately we, as americans, need another revolution to take place here within our country– if the wrath of katrina and the year long bumbling of those in political power hasn’t been enough to convince us, then i don’t know whatever will–

it is way past the hour when the minorities and the poor in this “great” country of ours, need to stand up and peacefully demand for the conditions in which they live, struggle, and die, to change–

the article, which highlighted the rise of violent crime in america, told of an individual named chris crowder who was killed by several gunshot as he was sitting in his neighborhood at 3:30 in the morning–

chris crowder, an individual that was running for mayor had already suffered as a victim of a violent crime which left him paralyzed and wheel-chair bound years prior to this fatal incident– questions were raised by many as to why a man would be out in a neighborhood that was prone to violence at this hour but i can only wonder at the hypocrisy and socioeconomic subjectiveness of the question as i often will step into my yard at the same hour with no fear at all– a rough neighborhood? yes, but you can’t change this type of a neighborhood hiding inside and if you are running for mayor, then shouldn’t you be aware of the citizens that inhabit the city at all times of the day?

chris crowder was a black man and although the color of an individuals skin should not matter, it was the color of mr. crowder’s skin that did matter– neil young recently released a song entitled “looking for a leader”– in this song he openly states and requests

“someone walks among us
and i hope he hears the call
and maybe it’s a woman
or a black man after all”

many criticisms have been made of this statement– and although i can’t peer into neil youngs’ mind, i believe that there are many people of all colors in america that are waiting and hoping for a strong, independent black individual to come forth and beat all the odds and help to unite this segregated nation– only in this way will the many races in america be able to finally “live together”–

yes indeed, it’s time for a revolution–
